Pig Advice

Poem, 2018, in Bamboophobia, porkopolis.org:

Swine by Ko Ko Thett

Like a pageant sow the pregnant moon has lowered herself

to rub

her spine against a pine limb.

if you dream of horses you will travel far. If you are in a

town under a cavalry siege, your dreams surely will be equine.

If you dream of pigs you will remain where you are. The back

garden of my childhood home was too small for a horse.

It was a pigpen. Pigs are enlightened winged horses. You don’t

mount a Pegasus the way you mount a pig.

I rode bareback, I rode out all the revolutions.

Each time a young swine was castrated, all hell broke loose.

When balls rolled, blood went everywhere.

The only Master I got to know was the young Master, whose

speciality was swine sterilization.

Hooves still ruffle my feathers – hundreds of hoofs on gravel roar

like tanks rolling at the Battle of the Vale of Tears.

In the post-apocalyptic world,

only winged horses shall remain.

I am not so sure about that.

The pig is intelligent, but often misunderstood. It eats almost everything, and not with the best of manners, but it keeps the sty clean so that rats and mice don’t infest the area. Contemplative in mud, and inquisitive, it will stick its nose into all sorts of muck and mire. It loves the company of other pigs and animals in the farm-house, and is a good and true companion.

ADVICE: It may be a time for you to get out of the mud, muck, and mire to elevate your intellectual mind to full use. Not all the facts are in, but you are on your way to creative decision making. Maintain your self-worth and self-esteem – and ask for assistance if needed because you have friends and family. You are not alone. When your thoughts are muddied with fear and anxiety, you will be misunderstood, so don’t squeal about it – stop for a minute; you know you can do it. You’ve got this!
